This type of ,strong>ductless mini split is very popular overseas where many buildings do not have ductwork. They are becoming popular in the US where homes need to be cooled but no ductwork exists, such as in the case of homes heated with high efficiency boilers (High efficiency boiler).

The ductless mini split has an outside condensing unit, very similar to a regular air conditioner. It also has copper tubing running to an indoor unit. However, the indoor unit(s) (It can have multiple indoor units with one outdoor unit) are not ducted, they simply hang on a wall or mount in the ceiling. These are not put in a window – like the window air conditioner, and they don’t need a huge hole in the wall – like the PTAC units. They are much quieter than window units, because the noisiest part of the system is outside.

Quiet Operation Wall mounted air conditioners are comprised of an indoor and outdoor unit, which allows for a peaceful inside environment by enabling the contractor to install louder components like compressors and motors outdoors.

Easy Installation Copper tubing running through a small 3 to 4-inch opening in the wall or ceiling easily connects the indoor and outdoor units of the wall mounted ac. Refrigerant is cycled through the lines from the condensing outdoor unit to the indoor unit, where the air is quietly distributed to the interior space.

Energy Efficient Conventional air duct systems tend to be bulky and can require special structural attention while for wall mounted air conditioner piping can often be routed through walls and joists to maintain aesthetics
